Suzanne Ruff’s The Reluctant Donor
April 8, 2010 Suzanne Ruff launched her new book titled The Reluctant Donor. Through a wonderfully written piece of creative non-fiction Suzanne sheds light on Polycystic Kidney disease (PKD) and how this devastating killer has plagued her family for generations.
I’d never heard of PKD until I met Suzanne. And I was blown over after reading how PKD has swept through her family and how their lives have been affected by this deadly disorder.
This is one of those stories that needed to be told, to increase the awareness of PKD and the dire need for organ donors.
And with perfect timing because April is also national donate life month. Created to encourage, recognize and honor those who are donors of organs, blood and marrow. There are more than 107,000 people waiting for an organ http://www.unos.org/ . It takes awesome courage to be a donor so let’s spend more than April celebrating those who ‘donate life’.

Autumn,
Thank you very much for the great review of Suzanne’s new book. She will really appreciate it when she sees it.
She has just launched a book tour. She’ll be at Circle Books in Sarasota, Fla. this weekend. Next week she’ll be in Orlando, Fla., signing books and talking about organ donation.
Did you get a signed copy? If not I’d be happy to put you in touch with Suzanne.
